Description

CUPCAKE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Cupcake          Best Guess for Breed:  Terrier mix    Best Guess for Age:  5 years as of July 2026       SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  10.4 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.    Special adoption considerations:  Cupcake was rescued from a hoarding situation in South Carolina.  She has not been well socialized with new people and has lived her whole life with other dogs.  New nosies, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety.  She will need a patient adopter who can give her time to come out of their shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place. And because she is shy, Cupcake needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show him the ropes.   Cupcake is Looking For: a quiet, safe home with a steady canine sibling and compassionate humans to look after her forever. Cupcake isn't the kind of dog who will jump into your lap on day one — but with time, patience, and love, her sweetness will slowly unfold. Cupcake may only want to observe at first; joining in will come when she feels safe.   Cupcake relies on other dogs for comfort and support. She will relish going to the dog park or doggie daycare where she can make many new canine friends. Terriers don't stop being energetic when puppyhood ends so be prepared to find ways to keep Cupcake busy, both physically and mentally. Training will help you guide Cupcake in the right direction as she adjusts to a more stimulating environment than what she was used to. What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update once Cupcake spends some time with a foster.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
