General info
Description
Meet Carly, the female terrier mix. Carly arrived to the Shelter as a stray. She was hanging out outside a local business when a good Samaritan saw her and was concerned for her safety (with no person attached to the end of her leash). We held Carly for her stray period and, when no one came forward to reclaim, this pipsqueak is ready to find an adopter. Carly was very shy when she first arrived and needed some time to warm up. She bonded to one staff member, who introduced her to more people and slowly, but surely, her world expanded. Carly bonds quickly to people and is looking for someone who will love her just as hard back. She has met other dogs and expressed interest in playing and interacting. Any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have any history of Carly with cats or children. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them
