Welcome to the SPCA, Zeus!! Named after the king of the Greek gods, Zeus carries himself with quiet confidence. This handsome flea-bitten gray Appendix gelding stands approximately 15 hands tall and weighs just over 1,000 pounds. While he won't be striking lightning from the skies, he does have a commanding presence that's hard to ignore. Zeus is easy to catch, stands quietly for the farrier, and is generally well-mannered to handle on the ground. He's not the type to demand endless cuddles, but he enjoys a good grooming session and appreciates a person who understands and respects him. Zeus has previous riding experience but has had some time away from consistent work, so he'll need an adopter who is willing to spend time refreshing his skills under saddle. He would be best suited for an experienced horse person who is comfortable working with horses that were gelded later in life and understands the behaviors that can sometimes come with that transition. Zeus can also become attached to his pasture companions, so he'll benefit from someone with experience helping horses build confidence and independence when separated from their buddies. Like his namesake, Zeus appreciates clear leadership and consistency. In return, he'll reward the right person with a willing partnership and plenty of potential.
