Description
Olive is a female tabby, about 10 months old, looking for a patient soul who speaks fluent cat. Olive's had a rough go of it — she survived a house fire, and then her would-be new owner lost their housing and couldn't keep her. None of that was her fault, but it's left her shy and easily spooked. She needs someone experienced with cats who understands that trust takes time and won't take it personally when she hides (she is an *expert* hider — you will lose track of her in a studio apartment). Here's the thing about Olive: she talks tough. Go in for pets and you'll get the scariest, most dramatic growl you've ever heard from a 5-pound cat. Keep your hand steady and don't take the bait — a few seconds later she'll melt into purrs and full-on biscuit-making. She's all bark, so to speak. She's also extremely food-motivated, so treats are your fastest way to her heart. **Olive needs:** - A quiet home with cat-savvy people - Patience while she decompresses and learns to trust again - Someone who won't rush the growl-to-purr pipeline - A steady supply of treats She's not going to be an instant lap cat, but for the right person, she'll be so worth the wait. Olive deserves a soft landing after a hard start — could that be with you? Olive lives in Hillsboro with her caregiver and she is indoor only. Her rehoming fee is $125 and includes her spay, microchip, worming and flea treatment, current vaccines, and negative FIV and FeLV test.
