Benjen is a wonderful and loving boy of around 5 years old looking for a wonderful n’ loving human to call his own. Benjen was found dumped on the side of the road and has been living with us since - and has truly been a great house guest considering the non-ideal circumstances of his stay. In the last 3 months we have gotten to know the boy well. Benjen adores:•fetch, but instead of multiple throws he holds the toy in his mouth and prances around proudly, little tail wagging until he catches wind of something a bit more interesting •rides in the car with the windows down for ultimate smell intake•smiling and sneezing in excitement while you sing him a little song  •laying beside his person and having a good nap. Cuddles are great too.Benjen is truly a great dog and would make the best companion for someone who is prepared to take on a new friend. We do believe Benjen has suffered abuse in his past, and he can take a while to get used to men, especially, so he needs someone who is willing to work with him through that. He is a wonderful boy with a lot of love to give, and he would be best suited to a peaceful, patient home. Benjen is good with other dogs and cats - this does, however, have a couple conditions that I’ve noticed:Around cats: he does occasionally want to chase them; this behavior seems to be purely playful and non -gressive. He has lived with my cat for the last 3 months. Around dogs: Benjen is good with other dogs, but can get protective towards other dogs when he is around my dog who is a young female. I think he would do great with another male, as an only child, or with an older female dog. This behavior was noticed before Benjen got neutered so it may change now that he is a sterile chap. Thanks for reading and please reach out if you have any questions about this lovely smiling lad or if you’d like to meet up to see if it would be a good fit!Contact me at (828)747-2836 or percyperhaps@gmail.com.
