Whoever left Liberty next to a dumpster made a spectacular miscalculation, and we'd like to take a moment to acknowledge that. This rare, beautiful orange girl — and yes, female orange cats are genuinely uncommon, she came out of the womb already exceptional — was abandoned with her two tiny kittens at a Nashville apartment complex by someone who clearly had no idea what they were throwing away. Liberty, for her part, has chosen to respond to this indignity not with bitterness but with a complete and utter refusal to let it define her. After a couple of days of entirely justified discontent, she decided that her new foster family was worthy of her considerable affections and she has not looked back since. This girl purrs, cuddles, rides around in your arms like a queen surveying her kingdom, makes biscuits with the dedication of a professional baker, accepts belly rubs, extends her paws for claw trims like an absolute lady, delivers head butts and face rubs on a generous schedule, and will be in your lap approximately one second after you sit down. She is not refuse material. She never was. Liberty is best suited as a single pet so she doesn't have to share the spotlight she so richly deserves. Some gems just need the right setting.
