Meet Sadie: The Ultimate Gentle Companion Breed: Stated Doxipoo (Dachshund/Poodle Mix)Estimated DOB: October 2015 (A mature, wise gal!)Weight: 15 lbsAppearance: Cream coat with unique gray accents on her ears and tailCompatibility: Great with cats, kids, and other low-key dogsAbout SadieIf you are looking for a loyal, shadow-like companion who will literally follow you to the ends of the earth (or just to the kitchen), meet Sadie! This precious Doxipoo is the definition of a "people dog." She has a perpetual "happy tail" that wags for absolutely everyone she meets, and she particularly has a soft spot for men, whom she will happily trail around the house.Sadie’s favorite pastimes include sitting out on the deck for hours soaking up the sunshine, going for nice walks, and laying right by your feet. If you offer her belly scratches, you’ll have a best friend for life! She is still figuring out how to "dog"—she doesn’t quite understand toys or commands like sit/stay yet—but she makes up for it with sheer affection.Home & RoutineSadie is perfectly house-trained as long as she gets her morning and evening bathroom breaks. Because she loves her humans so intensely, she does experience some separation anxiety. She is currently left loose in the house for 8 hours during the workday and does great! However, she does not like the crate (it causes her distress), so a crate-free home is a must.At bedtime, she’d love nothing more than to curl up in bed with you. If that's not your style, she will vocalize her protest for a little bit before settling down to sleep on her own bed. Her foster has just started her on a mild medication (Reconcile) to help her feel more confident when left alone. In the right home,  this may not be needed long-term.She currently coexists wonderfully with two other small dogs. Because she wasn't socialized much in her past, she can get a little startled if another dog bumps into her unexpectedly, and large groups of dogs make her anxious. She would thrive best in a low-stimulation, peaceful home with another calm dog or as your one-and-only queen.Add this furbaby to your home by applying today at https://maybelslegacy.org
