Description
Pipette is a one year old spayed female who gets along great with other cats. Here's what foster volunteers who have cared for her have to say: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Friendly and curious. Pipette needs a day or so to decompress after being moved to a new place, but then wants to play, explore, talk to you, and eat! Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes, for a short time on her head and back. We found that 5 pets is about her limit. After about 5 pets, she nips gently to let you know she's done (she still wants to be friends, just not be pet). Does the cat come on your lap? Only for churu. Does the cat like to be held? No Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, but does jump on the bed to say hi. Does the cat seek your attention? Yes! She is very vocal and loves to play. Does the cat like to play? Yes. Pipette loves to play, and moves her toys around a lot. Her favorite toys are her green ball track (she will take this with her when she is adopted!), crinkle ball, fishing toys, springs, and other balls. She loves to chase and play soccer. How vocal is the cat? Pipette is VERY chatty. She makes a lot of squeaks and pips, just like her name. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? On occasion. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Is the cat picky about food? Right now, she's eating one can of wet food a day and unlimited dry food. We think she may have a preference for turkey and chicken over beef (all Fancy Feast), but she just might not have been hungry on the beef day. She has, on occasion, eaten two cans of wet food in one day (!) - she's tiny and young, so maybe she's in a growth spurt? Regardless, she LOVES to eat. What is the cat's favorite treat? Churu. She will come up into your lap for a Churu. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Yes - frequent playful swatting. She enjoys a swatting game (she swats at your hand, you swat at her paw). That's probably not a great game to encourage, but she does like it! Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? When she first arrived, she was a little nippy and scratchy - but over time she has really cut down on both. She is young and (I think) can be trained to not nip or swat. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Yes - see above - much less nipping now than when she first arrived. You just have to read her signals and stop touching before she wants to nip (5 pat limit). Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? She generally responds well to people. If she knows she's getting in the carrier, she will hide - otherwise she's good. Other animals? Very interested in other cats. She wanted to play with our resident cats (they were less sure about her!). Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Pipette is super playful, friendly, young, and getting better at human interaction with more exposure. She's a fun one! Her voice is also very distinctive. She literally says "pip pip." What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? She’s nipping less (see above about reading her cues). She can be loud in the morning, or when she wants food (managed by unlimited dry food).
