Prospective adopters must be able to travel to San Antonio to complete the adoption process.  Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Meet Piper! ❤️ Piper is an adorable 18-month-old, 30-pound pup that we are calling a Terrier mix for now—but she definitely needs a DNA test to uncover her true heritage! One thing we do know for sure is that she is 100% sweet, loving, and ready to find her forever family. When Piper came into rescue, she was extremely matted and uncomfortable, so she had to be shaved all the way down. Not only did it free her from those painful, pulling mats, but it also means she is much more comfortable and cooler just in time for the Texas summer. Her beautiful coat will grow back, but her wonderful personality is already shining bright! Piper absolutely loves people of all sizes and is happiest when she is right by your side. She is a happy, bouncy girl who gets incredibly excited when her people come home and will greet you with a whole lot of love and enthusiasm. This smart girl already has a great start on her manners. Piper knows how to use the dog door, appears to be house broken with the use of the dog door, and does wonderfully in her kennel. Piper is looking for an affectionate family who will continue helping her build confidence and polish her social skills outside the home. She would love a family that includes her in adventures, takes her on road trips, and lets her be part of everything they do. If you're looking for a joyful, devoted companion who will celebrate every day you're home, Piper is ready to be your new best friend! Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $250. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references.
