When Denver came into rescue, his coat was so severely matted that he had to be shaved down to the skin. While he may be sporting a short haircut for now, he feels so much better, and his beautiful coat will grow back before you know it. Denver has the classic Schnauzer personality—smart, confident, and full of character. He loves being part of the family and enjoys spending time with his people. He's a social boy who wants to be included in whatever is going on, whether that's relaxing at home or heading out on an adventure. Like many Schnauzers, Denver can be a little bossy with other male dogs, so he would likely do best as an only dog or with a larger female companion. He walks nicely on a leash, knows how to use the dog door, and is doing well with his house training. One of the best things about Denver is how adaptable he is. He'd be equally happy in a quiet, laid-back home where he can soak up attention or with an active family that enjoys taking him along on outings and adventures. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a fun personality, lots of love to give, and a fresh new outlook on life, Denver is ready to be your best friend! Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. His adoption fee is $200. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary reference.
