Hi!  My name is Leroy and I am looking for a forever home.  I was picked up as a stray by animal control and taken to a pretty scary place called a shelter where, after my hold time was up, I was in danger of being placed on something bad called 'the list" 'cause they were so full.  Fortunately, BCAA saw me and said they would help me ... yeah!  I appear to be a long-legged chihuahua mix but I'm only a little under 10lbs, and at around 18mos old I shouldn't get much bigger.  I'm a little shy when first meeting new people but I do love getting attention once I've determined you're safe.  I have gotten along with most all of the other dogs I have met although I can be a little bossy when I first meet other males who are also a little on the bossy side; I haven't paid any attention to those cats I've encountered who all weigh more than me.  I have done well in my crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of the bedding although I would prefer to be out and about with you.  I have even shared my crate with another small female friend without any issues at all, even when we're eating.  I'm still learning about what a leash is all about but am working on getting it down pat as I love go explore and run around (I would love a fenced yard to keep me safe and take care of my business!).  If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.
