7/2026 UPDATE: Pumpkin, FKA Charlie Girl Joyride, was adopted in 2016 and is back in our care because her elderly human passed away, and family members were unwilling to step up and care for this perfectly behaved 11-year-old dog.  It breaks our hearts when this happens, as so often elderly people are sure that family members will step in if something were to happen to them, as this adopter said in her application, but they rarely do. Please consider adding your pets to your will so you can rest easy knowing your wishes for them are followed. Pumpkin is housetrained and pee pad trained. She rides well in the car and walks nicely on a leash.  We are told Pumpkin is good with children, and she does wonderfully with the other dogs here. We adore her and wish we could take her heartache away. So thats the story of Pumpkin and we know there are old dog lovers out there that will be thrilled to have her join their home!  Pumpkin was born about December 2, 2015 and weighs about 40 lbs.  She is sweet beyond words and is wonderful with the other dogs.  We are guessing at breed, but feel we are in the ballpark as she has the chubby lips/cheeks of a Shar Pei.   This is all we know so far and we'll be learning as we go and so will you.   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $250.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list.
