* This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, July 11th from 12-3 PM unless adopted prior to the event.   All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.   Adoption fee: $650   Meet Fancy! Fancy is an adorable 8 week old Chi mix rescued from the shelter at the tender age of six weeks. She weighs about 5 lbs and should stay on the petite side. If you're looking for a puppy with a heart full of love and a playful spirit, Fancy just might be your perfect match!   Fancy starts her day bright and early, waking up as soon as she hears activity in the kitchen— usually around 6:30 a.m. She's not a big eater, so we leave food in her crate overnight for her to nibble on whenever she's hungry. She also enjoys lunch around noon and dinner at 5:00 p.m.   Since Fancy is still a puppy, she's not able to go for walks yet. Instead, she spends most of her days enjoying outdoor access, where she loves running around with her foster brothers— a French Bulldog and a Shar-Pei. From the very first day, Fancy adored her people, and it didn't take long before she fell in love with her foster siblings too. Whether she's curled up in your lap or following her canine friends around the yard, Fancy is happiest when she's with those she loves.   When she's feeling playful, Fancy gets the cutest zoomies! She loves racing around the grass and chasing her Frenchie foster brother. She almost catches him every time, and it's impossible not to smile watching her determination.   Fancy is already off to an excellent start with her house manners. She sleeps quietly through the night in her crate and has gone two weeks without a single overnight accident. She's also not a chewer or a digger, and the only time she barks is when she's politely asking for a treat.   One of Fancy's most endearing quirks is her love of collecting treasures. She'll proudly carry off her favorite toys— or occasionally a rogue sock— and tuck them away in her secret hiding spots. She has hidden treasures in the crevice of the couch, behind pillows, and her newest favorite location: her foster dad's work backpack! Just yesterday, he discovered four toys, two socks, and a small stick tucked safely inside.   Fancy would do wonderfully in a home with another playful dog to romp around with, but she would be just as happy as your one-and-only pup. She bonds deeply with her people and is content as long as she's surrounded by love and included in the family's daily life.   Fancy is a sweet, affectionate, happy puppy who loves people, enjoys other dogs, and is already developing wonderful habits. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a playful personality, a silly sense of humor, and a heart as big as her puppy-dog eyes, Fancy is ready to steal your heart--and maybe a sock or two!
