Meet Spirit – the miracle kitten with a story you won’t forget. Born in a helicopter bone yard in the height of summer (approximately June 2025), Spirit started life as a feral kitten in one of the harshest places imaginable. But even at just a few weeks old, on one of the hottest days of the year, he did something extraordinary—he walked right up to a human and asked for help. That moment changed everything. He’s named after the helicopter “Spirit in the Sky,” a nod to the place where his journey began and the resilience that carried him through. From that day on, Spirit proved just how special he is. He is deeply human-imprinted, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. He loves being close to his person, often seeking out attention, cuddles, and even gently holding hands like it’s his favorite way to connect. Spirit is playful and curious, always getting into everything with a joyful, mischievous energy that makes life with him endlessly entertaining. He also enjoys playing fetch and will happily engage when it’s time to play—but he’s just as content to settle in for a long cuddle session. Spirit does well with dogs and is confident in a mixed household. He would be perfectly fine as a solo companion, but he could also be adopted with Kaiowa, a kitten from the same colony who shares part of his story. Despite his rough beginnings, Spirit has grown into a friendly, loving, and confident little companion. He is the perfect lap cat—ready to curl up, purr, and stay right where he belongs: with his person. If you’re looking for a cat with heart, resilience, and an extraordinary capacity for love, Spirit is ready to be your constant companion and best friend. Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150-mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at https://www.streetpaws.org/home/adopt.  This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. Our adoption fee is  $125  for all our cats. They have been given age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, have been feline leukemia/ feline aids tested, dewormed, have received flea prevention, and are micro-chipped.
