This stunning 8-year-old purebred Maine Coon beauty is a majestic gray queen with mesmerizing green eyes and a personality that's every bit as bold as she is beautiful. Ruby knows exactly who she is—and she expects everyone else to know it too! Ruby has lived peacefully with another cat for the past five years and has shared her home with two small dogs her entire life. She gets along well with both, as long as everyone understands one important rule: Ruby is the boss. While Ruby enjoys attention, she's very clear about her boundaries. She likes affection on her terms and will let you know when she's had enough. Sometimes that's with a gentle love nibble, and other times it can be a bite that breaks the skin. Because of this, she is looking for an experienced, cat-savvy home without young children—someone who appreciates and respects feline body language and understands that not every cat expresses love through endless cuddles. Ruby isn't the type of cat who wants to be carried around or fussed over all day. Instead, she's the perfect companion for someone who admires independent, confident cats with larger-than-life personalities. She can be picked up briefly, but she's happiest when allowed to set the pace of the relationship. This beautiful girl has enjoyed both indoor comforts and outdoor adventures throughout her life. Whether she's lounging like royalty or exploring the great outdoors, Ruby lives life on her own terms.  All things aside, Ruby could happily adapt to being an 'indoor only' companion. Ruby's world changed when her beloved owner passed away, and now she is searching for a new forever home where she can continue being exactly who she is—a magnificent, confident queen deserving of love and understanding. She does purr beautifully and meows a bit, not a lot - nothing annoying at all. Ruby is currently located near Amsterdam, New York, and urgently needs a new home within the next month.
