Description

Meet Rise! Rise is a 1‑year‑old double‑mane Lionhead rabbit with a gentle spirit and a story that started in a very unexpected place. He and his sibling were found early one morning under our ACO van, sitting in an open box with no one around. One of our techs discovered them when arriving for the day, and they were brought inside right away for safety and care.Like any animal, rabbits need time to adjust and feel secure in new environments, and Rise is no exception. He came in with significant matting, likely from living outdoors without proper grooming. Thanks to the help of a local rabbit rescue, he’s already feeling much more comfortable. We’re still working through some of the remaining mats, and his future home may need to continue that gentle grooming to keep him healthy and pain‑free. He’s been patient and sweet through it all.Rise is a calm, curious rabbit who enjoys having space to explore and settle in at his own pace. He does well with cats and dogs, and he’s appropriate for kids who understand that rabbits cannot be picked up or handled roughly. Once he feels safe, he shows his soft, sweet personality — the kind that makes you want to sit quietly nearby and let him come to you.Rise is ready for a home that can offer patience, kindness, and a stable environment where he can truly thrive. If you’re looking for a rabbit with a gentle heart and a story worth honoring, Rise is waiting to meet you.Rise's adoption fee is $25, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet!
