* This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, July 11th from 12-3 PM unless adopted prior to the event.   All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.   Adoption fee: $700   Ryanne: From Mama to Beloved Companion   Meet Ryanne, a sweet 1-2 year old Shih-Poo weighing 15 lbs who is ready to trade her days as a devoted mama for a lifetime of being someone’s very special girl. Her coat is soft and low-sheddding but may not be an option for those with allergies. Ryanne came to the rescue with her puppies, Gosling and Reynolds, and after raising her babies with love and care, she is finally ready for a home where she can be the one getting spoiled.   This adorable little girl is the perfect combination of affectionate, gentle, and easygoing. Ryanne is a true lovebug who wants nothing more than to be near her people. She’s the kind of dog who makes you feel special just by being around — a loyal little companion who wants to share all of life’s moments with her favorite humans.   A Sweet Soul Who Blossomed   Since coming into foster care, Ryanne has blossomed into the sweetest little shadow. She is a total velcro pup who loves being near her people and her canine foster sibling. As long as she knows her family is close by, she is happy and content. She has gone from a mama dog into a playful, affectionate companion who is discovering how wonderful life can be.   Ryanne’s Daily Routine   Ryanne starts her day around 7-8 AM with a trip outside for potty, kisses, and some backyard adventures. She loves following her foster dog sibling around the yard, sniffing, exploring, and taking in all the exciting smells.   She enjoys having a cozy space of her own and happily relaxes in her x-pen, where she eats and sleeps. Her foster says she is the first dog she has had who doesn’t try to climb out — Ryanne actually seems to appreciate having her own safe little retreat!   Breakfast is a special event for Ryanne. She enjoys kibble with a small amount of roasted chicken on top (because she knows she’s a fancy girl!), and she prefers to savor her meals throughout the day rather than eat everything at once. She is a natural grazer who likes to distribute her kibble and enjoy it little by little. Recently, she discovered salmon wet food, and it has quickly become her favorite way to make mealtime extra exciting.   After breakfast, Ryanne enjoys backyard time, and later in the afternoon she loves a nice 20-minute walk. Dinner comes around 5-6:30 PM and includes kibble mixed with salmon wet food. Of course, she also enjoys a treat or two throughout the day — especially salmon jerky!   The Ultimate Companion Dog   Ryanne’s favorite activity is simple: being with her people. She loves cuddles and affection and will happily sit on a lap, although she often prefers to be right beside her human where she can soak up all the love.   She isn’t a big toy player yet and seems a little unsure about toys — unless another dog has one! Then suddenly, toys become much more interesting. Ryanne is playful and curious, but overall she is a wonderfully chill girl who is happy to relax in a cozy bed while her family goes about their day.   Great with Dogs & Learning About the World   Ryanne currently lives with a friendly 12-year-old, 20-pound female dog and the two get along well. They enjoy exploring together and sharing space.   She has also met other dogs, including a giant German Shepherd service dog, and has done well. Ryanne enjoys canine companionship and seems happiest when she has another friendly dog nearby.   A Dream Walking Buddy   Ryanne is a wonderful little walking companion! She walks beautifully on leash, doesn’t pull, and frequently looks back to check in with her person. She is polite when passing people and dogs on walks and doesn’t seem bothered by strangers walking by.   She gets excited when it’s time to go out and may need a moment to settle before the leash goes on, but once she’s ready, she’s a fantastic adventure buddy.   Smart, Sweet & Making Great Progress   Ryanne is learning all about being a house dog and is doing wonderfully. She has learned to come inside through the dog door and is still working on using it to go outside. Her foster takes her out regularly to help her succeed, and she has had very few accidents.   She is also a quick learner! Ryanne knows “sit” and will happily sit for a treat or while getting her leash attached. Her recall is excellent — if she is exploring the backyard and her foster calls her, she comes running back. She even understands “go potty” and is eager to please.   If Ryanne gets tempted by something she shouldn’t have (like a sock or a tasty snack she found), a gentle “Ryanne, uh oh” is usually enough to make her stop and rethink her decision.   Ryanne’s Perfect Home   Ryanne would thrive in a home where she can be loved as a true family member. She would be happiest with someone who enjoys having a sweet little companion nearby — whether that means relaxing together at home, taking walks around the neighborhood, or exploring the backyard.   She has met several visitors in her foster home and has been friendly and comfortable with new people. While she loves companionship, she can also handle some alone time. Her foster has left her for 4-5 hours without issues, especially when she has her cozy space and some classical music playing.   A home with another friendly dog could be wonderful for Ryanne, but more than anything, she is looking for a person or family who will appreciate her gentle, loving personality.   Why Ryanne Is Special   Ryanne has already proven what an incredible dog she is. She raised her babies, trusted her humans, and learned that life can be filled with comfort, kindness, and love.   Now it’s her turn.   This sweet little mama is ready to be someone’s baby — to have a soft bed, a loving family, yummy treats, and all the affection she has spent so much time giving to others. Ryanne is a gentle, loyal, affectionate companion who will fill her forever home with love.
