Some dogs have a way of stealing your heart the moment you meet them, and Paddington is absolutely one of those dogs. While his past may not have been kind, you would never know it by the way he greets the world—with a wagging tail, endless kisses, and a heart overflowing with love. Paddington is the definition of a gentle soul. He adores being held, happily melts into your arms for snuggles, and is just as content curling up beside you on the couch as he is joining in for a little playtime. He’s affectionate, goofy, easygoing, and has the sweetest personality you could ask for. Whether you’re family, a friend, or someone he’s just met, Paddington is ready to shower you with kisses and happily accepts pets and cuddles from everyone. He’s a wonderfully well-mannered companion both at home and out in public. Paddington is quiet, rarely barks, walks nicely on a leash, rides beautifully in the car, and is crate trained. He’s also very close to being fully potty trained and simply needs a consistent schedule to help him finish the job. Smart and eager to please, he responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement, especially if treats are involved! Paddington would thrive in a home with another friendly small dog to keep him company, as he truly enjoys the comfort and companionship of a canine friend. He requires a companion animal in his forever home and would do best with a dog of similar size who enjoys sharing life’s adventures. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will happily snuggle in your lap, greet every day with a happy heart, and remind you just how wonderful dogs can be, Paddington is ready to fill that role. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
