Description

Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet, SC Weight: 1.5lbs and growing! Mom is about 11 lbs. We think Winnie will be also or slightly under that. She is tiny. Height: About 3" now.  We think full grown she will be about 9".  Mom is about 10" Spayed/Neutered: Winnie is too young to be surgically altered.  Your adoption contract will include an addendum laying out the best time to spay (between six months but no later than one year), the post spay follow up requirements we ask for and the condition that she never be used for breeding.  The financial responsibility for spay belongs to the adopter. Please note, Winnie has bilateral inguinal hernias which can also be repaired at the time of the spay.  The cost of this is also the financial responsibility of her adopter. Adoption Fee: $499 Fence needed? No but Winnie is a very young puppy. We have not yet introduced leashes.  She is being taught to go on pee pads and could be introduced to a harness.  If you do not have a fence, our best suggestion for a young puppy is an exercise pen in your yard for a place to go potty.  Please note, young dogs go about every hour for every month old they are until about 4 to 5 months old.  Expect late night potty breaks!   Want To Know More About Me? Text "Winnie" to 864-441-9075 to see if Winnie is still available. All information we have on Winnie is here in her profile.   Here's Your Quick Peek: Winnie is a puppy and she is all puppy! At 12 weeks old, she is beginning to show her personality and well - she's definitely a diva princess waiting for a throne to rest her royal body on. Winnie really wants to be a purse dog and we can tell that someone somewhere is going to be wrapped around her tiny paw. Winnie is being taught to go on a pee pad and is good at that.  She has not yet been introduced to a leash.  Please note, this litter was slow to grow up.  They are still nursing occasionally, and their mom Dazzle is allowing it.  Winnie was one of 4 pups originally but very sadly at 6 weeks, 2 of her sisters developed seizures and died within 24 hours of each other. Our vets best assumption now is a condition called liver shunt, an assumption drawn from observing the decline and the seizures. Yes, it broke all our hearts for they were precious babies and they are missed. We opted to keep Winnie and her brother Eddie for an additional 2 weeks to insure they seem to be healthy and so far, all is good.  Please note, Winnie has an bilateral inginual hernias which can be corrected at the same time that she is spayed.  She is too young and too small for repair now.  Let her grow up first. Puppies need another canine friend and plenty of play, activity, and stimulation. They are energetic, agile, and require homes prepared to meet their mental and physical needs, including a fenced yard. Puppies are typically friendly with everyone and can thrive in many home types as long as their adopter is ready for training, structure, and engagement. With proper boundaries and early socialization, puppies can also do well with cats. Please note - Winnie is independent.  If you do not have a dog, then let us know your plans for socialization and play time with other dogs around her age and size at least twice per week.  We think Winnie could thrive as an only but only with plans to make sure she keeps in touch with her own kind regularly.  Please note - if you want to skip the text and go straight to the application, you can find the link here: www.carolinapoodlerescue.org/application/ Must have: A home with someone home more than they are away. Puppies are a lot of work and need canine friends! Exercise: Puppies will need more exercise as they grow! PUPPY POLICY: Puppies are wonderful but require significantly more time, energy, and training than adult dogs. Many adult dogs in rescue are already well‑bred, well‑trained, and eager to bond, while puppies demand far more work and consistency. To ensure lifelong placements, our ideal puppy adopters are experienced dog owners with excellent vet‑care history, are home most of the day (away no more than 4 hours), and already have another dog in the home.
