Description

Meet Lugnut — a 1‑year‑old Cane Corso with the heart of a gentle giant and the soul of a dog who’s clearly known love. Lugnut came to us as a stray, but from the moment we met him, it was obvious he had been cared for at some point in his life. He leans into people with his whole body, seeking closeness and comfort, and he has that classic Cane Corso softness that shines through despite his impressive size.If you’re looking for a big, affectionate dog who wants nothing more than to lean all his weight against you and soak up attention, Lugnut is your guy. He’s calm, sweet, and incredibly people‑oriented. His size can be intimidating to other dogs, but he passed his dog test and showed appropriate behavior — he just may need slow introductions with dogs who aren’t overwhelmed by a large breed.Lugnut also did well during his cat test. He remained gentle and curious until one of the cats tried to smack him, which startled him. A confident cat who is used to large dogs would be an ideal match for him.He does have some resource guarding when pushed, so he’s looking for a home with children 10 and older who can respect his boundaries and help him feel safe. With structure, patience, and understanding, Lugnut will thrive — he’s already shown how loving and steady he can be.Lugnut is ready for a family who appreciates big dogs with even bigger hearts. If you want a loyal companion who will lean into you, follow you around, and offer gentle affection every day, this sweet giant is waiting to meet you.Lagnut's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet!
