Description

Luna is a 1½-year-old, 80-pound "velcro dog" who loves being close to her people and will happily follow you from room to room. Luna is incredibly sweet, friendly, and enjoys meeting new adults. Like many young, enthusiastic dogs, Luna gets excited when greeting new people and is working on keeping all four paws on the floor. At 80 pounds, her happy welcomes can be a bit enthusiastic, but she's eager to learn and is making progress with her manners. Luna gets along wonderfully with her 5-year-old foster brother and has reportedly done well with most other dogs. She's still learning how to adjust her play style with smaller dogs and can sometimes be a little heavy-handed with her paws, but her intentions are always playful. She's currently working on crate training and building confidence when left alone, as she does experience some separation anxiety. Luna isn't especially food-motivated, but she loves a stuffed Kong or a durable Nylabone to keep her occupied. House training has been excellent—she hasn't had any accidents in her foster home and clearly understands that potty time happens outside. As a young dog, Luna thrives with daily exercise and enrichment to help channel her energy. A family that enjoys walks, playtime, and including their dog in everyday activities would be a great fit for her. Luna is practically trilingual! Dog is her first language, followed by Spanish, and now she's learning English. She already knows "sit" and "come," and she's currently working on "leave it" and "stay." Her previous owner reported that she did well with cats, but in her foster home she has barked at the resident cat, so her long-term compatibility with cats is still unknown. She hasn't yet been tested with young children, but based on her friendly temperament, she would likely do best with older kids who can handle her size and playful enthusiasm. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate, fun-loving companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Luna may be the perfect addition to your family!
