Description

Porcini is the Mama to our mushroom litter (I am sure you already figured that out). She is a great Mama cat who has taken amazing care of her babies, but now deserves the "quiet life". Porcini was previously an outdoor cat brought to our shelter with her kittens in hopes of a better life. She is understandably cautious of people, not mean or aggressive just a little stand-offish when first approached. She spent quite a bit of time with one of our trusted fosters whose husband she really seemed to bond with. Porcini would allow him to approach her and show her affection. It seems she would do best in a fairly quiet and mellow household. We think in the "right" environment she would be an excellent companion and deeply bond with her person/people once she understood she was safe and that this was permanent. She is a gorgeous cat. She is calm and not in any way demanding. Porcini enjoys the very simple things in life, warmth, the sun, good food, and kindness. If you look at life in a similar way - you should come to meet Porcini. **She has recently begun requesting pets from more and more of our volunteers. We are so excited to see this. We do believe the shelter environment is a bit overwhelming for Porcini. We had lost some weight so we took some time to monitor her health and had our vet take a look at her to make sure she is medically "okay". We will continue to monitor her for a bit (if interested in adopting Porcini please submit an application so we can get you pre-approved and will set up meets so you can begin to develop a relationship-we will work with any potential adopter and our vet team to determine her go-home date). We have moved her into a smaller room with only a few cats so that she has time to decompress and hopefully put some weight back on. We do think a quiet home would be the "best medicine" for this girl as she learns how to be a pampered indoor Queen.  All of our kitties have s/n completed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.  If you'd like to meet any of our great cats/kittens please submit an online adoption application at littleorphans.org. Please give our Adoption Team time to process all the info. The more complete your application is, determines how quickly we are able to process your application. Please try to give your vets office (give prior authorization to release information to us), landlord, and references a heads up to expect our call.
