Description
Hi, my name is Gigi, and I'm a sweet 6-year-old girl looking for my forever family! This has been the biggest year of my life. For the first time, I know what it feels like to be treasured, loved, and truly cared for. I've spent the past nine months in two wonderful foster homes, and I think I'm finally ready to share my heart with a family of my own.My life didn't always look like this. For a long time, I didn't know what a real home was. I had never experienced a soft bed, warm blankets, gentle cuddles, or toys to play with. I spent up to 22 hours a day confined to a cage, and over time I became frightened of everything. Loud noises, sudden movements, and unfamiliar people all felt scary. I learned to make myself as small and invisible as possible. When I first arrived in foster care, I hid beneath blankets and barely moved whenever people were nearby or the sun was up. Everything was new, and trust took time.Little by little, I began to believe I was safe.First I trusted my foster mom, then my foster dad. Now I confidently explore the whole house, spend time relaxing in the living room, chase balls, pounce on wand toys, and snuggle with my foster mom at bedtime, often sleeping tucked into her arms beside her head. Sometimes I'm even brave enough to sleep between both my foster parents. My favorite moments are when my foster mom gently rubs my belly, scratches my chin, and whispers that I'm loved and special. Those quiet moments make me purr so happily that I sometimes drool a little.I'm looking for a calm, patient family that understands trust is built over time. I'll need a quiet home where I can settle in at my own pace, with kind words, gentle encouragement, and plenty of love. I'm still easily startled by sudden movements, loud noises, and unfamiliar people, so a peaceful environment is very important to me.My dream home would be with someone who is home most of the day and enjoys the quiet companionship of a gentle cat. I may do well with respectful older teenagers, but I'm not suited to a busy household with young children or lots of activity. Once I'm fully settled, I may enjoy having a calm feline companion, but I would prefer to be the only pet when I first arrive. My foster mom helped me blossom simply by spending time with me. She talked to me, gently stroked my head and chin, and made sure I always had soft, cozy hiding places where I felt safe. She would sit with me there until I was ready to come out. In return, I learned to roll onto my back for belly rubs, purr with contentment, and show her just how much her patience meant to me.I'm about six years old, in good overall health, and enjoy Hills Science Diet dry food along with loaf-style wet food. I previously had a cyst drained from my back left leg, and it may need to be monitored or treated again in the future. If you believe the deepest bonds are worth waiting for, I promise to reward your patience with quiet companionship, unwavering trust, and a love that has been hard won. I'm ready to find the home where I'll never have to be afraid again!- - - - - - - - - - - - -There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown.
