Meet Barkley! Barkley is a 1-year-old neutered German Shepherd who is fully committed to the awkward teenage phase. His legs seem a little too long, his feet appear to have arrived before the rest of him, and his coordination is still very much a work in progress. The result? A wonderfully goofy, gangly boy who will make you laugh daily. Underneath all that teenage silliness is an incredibly affectionate dog. Barkley loves being brushed, leans into petting with his whole body, gives generous kisses, and will happily roll over for belly rubs the moment he thinks one might be available.Walks with Barkley are never boring. Sometimes he strolls along beautifully like a seasoned gentleman; other times he decides your legs are part of the course and circles around them just to keep things interesting. He doesn’t know “sit” yet, but he takes treats with a very gentle mouth and is eager to learn with a little patience and positive reinforcement. Barkley has shown friendly interest in other dogs through the fence, and a meet-and-greet is recommended to make sure any canine friendship is a good fit.
