SPUNKY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Spunky        Best Guess for Breed:   Lab mix  Best Guess for Age: 5 years as of July 2026         SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:   23 lbs   Gets Along With: Spunky gets along well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog.We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here.   Special adoption considerations:    Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. Spunky is also shy and must go to a home with a welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes.   Spunky is Looking For: Spunky is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She wants nothing more than to embody her name, to trot through the world with all the confidence of a well-loved family pet. To get there, she needs extra loving and patient adopters who understand how the tremendous change in environment and her past life have made Spunky uncertain in new surroundings. She needs a welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes as well. Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved all her days. What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has spent time in foster care.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
