Description
Pete and his sister Luna were found by a Good Samaritan having playtime in the middle of the road near Warrenton, NC. Pete is vet aged at approximately 8 weeks old and weighs in currently at 6lbs. When full grown will most likely mature to around 40-50 lbs. He and his sister are believed to be pit/hound mixes, Pete looks more like a bully breed while his sister has a more petite face that makes her look more hound. He is an incredibly sweet boy who loves to play for short spurts and then enjoy a good nap snuggled up next to you. Overall Pete has a very laid back demeanor and has taken to having a routine very well. Both he and his sister have been crated during the day and at night to sleep, with minimal accidents in the crate during that time. While not fully potty trained, he will whine when he needs to go potty and has no problems using the bathroom outside. In fact it is the first thing he does each time he goes out. During his time in foster far Pete has lived/interacted with my three personal dogs (one small 8lbs, one medium 15lbs and one large 60lbs) and done extremely well with all of them. Pete will definitely benefit from using a slow feeder bowl in his forever home, at the moment, probably due to facing a lack of food/consistent feedings prior to coming to Pawfect Match, he eats very quickly. He is also fed in a separate space away from my other dogs because when he finishes his food he will wander to check out everyone else’s. He has shown zero signs of food aggression, but due to his age and general curiosity just currently lacks boundaries when it comes to feeding time around other dogs. Pete does excellent on car rides, he will whine for a minute, then settles down to sleep. He also does not get carsick. He has been bathed several times already and did very well with that too. Currently we are working towards forward movement when leashed, and getting down some basic commands. He is very smart and food motivated so I feel he will be a breeze to train! Pete has received his first set of shots, been dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, and also microchipped. He is ready to find his forever family!
