At first Anna is timid and it will take some time and patience to help her learn and understand that there is a better life for her. She has soft fur like silk and the color of honey. The breeder did cut out some mats on her one hind quarter but it will grow back. Look at her, isn’t she a beauty and when she gets familiar with you, she wags her tail and is glad to see you. You must have patience with her. Do you have the patience to give her the home she so richly deserves? Our must haves for sweet Anna are: A fenced in yard Someone with patience or breeder dog experience Someone that has another adult small, well socialized dog for her to pal around with and learn from Sorry no apartments, high rises, condos or duplex’s Anna will be worth the work you’ll have to put info gaining her trust but you have to be willing to do what it takes.         ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.  We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page.  Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend.  We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest.  We just can't get them from one coast to the other.  Please look for dogs on your coast.
