Description
Meet Dan and Forrest, two absolutely adorable white lionhead boys with the sweetest faces and even sweeter hearts. These best buddies were originally found on the side of a rural road and later lived in an outdoor hutch for about a year and a half before finally making their way to OHRR. When they arrived at the Center, it was clear that Dan had suffered a leg injury that could not be repaired. After careful evaluation by our vet, it was determined that the best way to relieve his pain was to amputate the injured hind leg. Dan’s surgery went well, and he has regained mobility, but losing one hind leg places additional stress on his remaining back leg. Because of this, Dan will require lifelong supportive care. In addition to pain medication, this may include treatments such as laser therapy to help manage inflammation and discomfort while keeping Dan mobile. We are happy to share recommendations for local veterinarians who can provide this care for a committed adopter. In return, we ask that the adopter be local to the central Ohio area. Forrest, thankfully, is healthy and injury-free - but he absolutely adores his little buddy Dan. Their bond is strong, and they provide comfort and companionship to one another. For that reason, they must be adopted together. Forrest helps keep Dan confident and happy, and Dan returns the love in full. Dan and Forrest are incredibly sweet, affectionate boys, but they will require either an experienced special-needs bunny parent or someone willing to learn and commit to Dan’s ongoing care. They may need a little extra effort, but they will reward the right home with love and devotion. If you have read our Adoption Policy and are interested in adopting Dan and Forrest, please complete and submit the online Adoption Application. We would be happy to discuss Dan's ongoing care needs and answer any questions you may have.
