HENDRIX’S STORY — HE STILL DOESN’T UNDERSTAND WHY HIS FAMILY IS GONE! Hendrix never imagined he would end up here. Adopted as a tiny kitten in 2022, Hendrix believed he had found his forever family. For nearly four years, home was all he knew—a warm bed, familiar voices, daily routines, and the comfort of being loved and included in his family's life. Then his world changed. A new baby joined the family, and Hendrix suddenly found himself facing an enormous change he didn't understand. He wasn't given the gradual introduction, reassurance, or time he needed to adjust to his new little family member. At the same time, the love and attention Hendrix had been accustomed to changed dramatically. Hendrix wasn't a bad cat. He was a confused cat trying to understand why his entire world suddenly felt different. Without the proper transition and support, Hendrix struggled with the changes around him. And ultimately, he lost the only home and family he had ever known.  Now Hendrix is at Forgotten Cats. He cries in his cage. He cries for attention. He cries when people walk by. And sometimes it feels as though he is desperately trying to ask one heartbreaking question... “What did I do wrong?” The truth is, Hendrix doesn't understand why his family is gone. One day he had a home, people he knew, and a life that felt safe. Now he sits behind a cage door surrounded by unfamiliar sounds, unfamiliar faces, and unfamiliar routines. And the saddest part? Hendrix is good with other cats AND children.  He simply needed patience, reassurance, and a proper introduction to such a huge change in his home. He needed someone to help him understand that there was still enough love for him, too. At only four years old, Hendrix should be stretched across a couch soaking up a sunbeam. He should be greeting his people at the door, curling up near his family, and feeling secure in the knowledge that he belongs. Instead, he cries in a cage because he doesn't know why the people he loved aren't coming back. Despite everything, Hendrix still wants love. He still seeks people. He still hopes someone will stop at his cage and see the wonderful cat behind those beautiful golden eyes. Hendrix doesn't need perfection. He needs a family willing to give him time to settle in, include him in their lives, and show him that change doesn't always mean being left behind.  Please give Hendrix the second chance he never imagined he would need. Please help us find him a home where he will be loved, understood, and properly introduced to any changes that come along. A home where Hendrix will never again have to cry and wonder... “What did I do wrong?”  Please share Hendrix's story. His real forever family may be one share away. .
