Description
Barley appeared on his rescuer's block earlier this spring, skinny, dirty, and hungry, but naturally affectionate. A few neighbors had been feeding him, but when he displayed a foot injury, a few neighbors banded together to catch him and get him some care. As soon as Barley was safe, he gulped down some food and curled up and laid down in his rescuer's bathroom, head gently resting on his paws, purring quietly while he closed his eyes. He has since had his foot injury fully treated and has been neutered. He has a clean bill of health and is ready to meet his forever home. This sweet boy is between 1-2 years old, and would be a dream addition to many types of homes. He’s playful, affectionate, engaging and waiting for the right match who can give him a good snuggle. He currently sleeps at the end of his rescuer's bed each night, and during the day follows them through the apartment and settles in nearby in whatever room they're in. He also isn’t afraid to be cradled like a baby. He has interacted well with other cats since introduced to them, so would likely be a fit for a multi-cat household. He also tolerates his rescuer's toddler’s antics without any signs of fear, but might prefer a home with children who are a bit older. This is a courtesy listing, meaning the cat(s) are being offered for adoption by a rescuer, rescue group, or individual unaffiliated with the Brooklyn Cat Cafe or Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition. As BBAWC has not evaluated the animal(s) we therefore cannot provide information on health or temperament. After we receive an application, we will connect you with the current caretaker of this cat. This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat.
