Description

Kobe is a 3‑year‑old, 9‑lb Maltese mix with a sweet, semi‑Velcro personality and a gentle, loving nature!   Quick Facts: Name: Kobe Breed: Maltese mix Age: 3 years old Weight: 9 lbs. House-Trained: Almost there (does sometimes mark) Crate-Trained: Almost there! Good with Dogs: Yes (can get jealous and want your attention) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes – hasn’t met young children though Energy Level: Low Fence Required: No Dog’s Location: Mebane, NC   About Kobe’s Breed: Our best guess is that Kobe is a Maltese mixed breed. Maltese are known for being affectionate, gentle, and deeply people‑oriented, often forming strong bonds with their families and thriving on companionship. With their soft coats, bright expressions, and sweet temperaments, they make wonderful lap dogs who love being close, whether that’s snuggling on the couch or following you from room to room. Despite their small size, they’re lively, attentive, and enjoy short daily walks and light play.   Their ideal home is one that offers consistent affection, calm structure, and plenty of together time. Maltese do best with families who appreciate a close‑bonded companion and can provide regular potty breaks, gentle guidance, and a predictable routine. Whether in an apartment or a house, they shine in environments where they feel secure, included, and cherished as part of the family.   What to Love about Kobe: Kobe’s adjusted beautifully in foster care and quickly showed his soft side — sleeping with his humans, following them around, and soaking up every bit of affection he can get! He has been wonderful with older kids and would happily meet younger ones too. He’s great with other dogs both at home and out around town, though he can get a little jealous when they get attention. He’s easily redirected, and honestly, who can blame him for wanting all the love!   Kobe is mostly potty trained but still working through some marking, and he’s doing well with his crate training. He can be left home alone without being destructive, and he’s been excellent with the cats in his foster home. With a lower energy level, Kobe enjoys his daily neighborhood walks and does well on a leash. He hasn’t shown much interest in playing yet, but as he continues to come out of his shell, he may discover how fun toys and games can be. At his core, Kobe is a sweetheart — gentle, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s true love and loyal companion!   Kobe’s “Kool” Highlights: 3‑year‑old, 9‑lb Maltese mix with a gentle, loving personality Semi‑Velcro sweetheart who loves sleeping with you and staying close Great with older kids and open to meeting younger ones Dog‑friendly at home and around town, with mild jealousy that’s easily corrected Cat‑friendly and respectful of feline housemates Mostly potty trained and working through some marking Crate trained and non‑destructive when left alone Lower energy with a love for calm companionship Good on a leash and enjoys daily neighborhood walks Sweet, affectionate companion ready to be someone’s devoted little love   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
