Description
***Amber is currently located at our rescue in Georgia. She is scheduled to attend our adoption event at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes, New Jersey over the July 11th weekend. An application for her adoption can be submitted at socorescue.com (no need to register or login). Questions about Amber and/or our adoption policy should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the Rescue's number.** Very shortly after a couple moved into their new home, they quickly became aware of the lack of empathy shown towards dogs and puppies within their own neighborhood. Their neighbor was the owner of a Bulldog that had recently had a litter of three pups that wasn't even being denied provided the very basics of care, such as proper feeding, shelter, or vet care. As badly as the mom appeared, her young puppies were suffering even more. The owner even denied any knowledge of the pups and and said she didn't care what happened to them. The couple took in the pups and knew exactly who to call for help as they had previously adopted two dogs from SoCo Rescue and have been supporters ever since. Amber arrived at our rescue with a severe case of hair loss brought on by flea infestation and a case of mange. She was also very apprehensive of people since she'd only known them to be cruel and heartless for most of her young life. Over the nearly two months that it took to get her back to full health, however, Amber has become very fond of her human counterparts and is now very eager to show lots of affection towards people. She does still display some hesitancy when facing new things, such as her leash training, but quickly becomes accepting of those things. Amber will do well in a home with another dog and one without excess commotion. Amber has received all three of her first year "puppy" vaccines, been de-wormed and treated against parasites on proper intervals and kept up to date on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm (Nexgard Plus) preventatives. Her adopter must agree to having Amber spay once she reaches the proper age and provide verification of such to our rescue. Amber will require all of her basic training.
