Description
Shortcake is a sweet girl who is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters. Meet Shortcake — the low-rider with a heart of gold Shortcake may be built close to the ground, but her capacity for love is sky-high. This sweet, silly girl came to us as part of a cruelty case, and while her past wasn’t kind, you’d never know it from the way she greets the world — tail wagging, eyes hopeful, and ready for affection. We’re not entirely sure what her breed mix is, but those adorably short, stubby legs have us guessing there’s a little dog in there. Whatever she is, she’s 100% lovable. Shortcake is the kind of dog who just wants to be near her people — soaking up attention, giving gentle kisses, and reminding you daily how resilient and forgiving dogs can be. She’s equal parts cuddle bug and goofball, guaranteed to make you smile. After everything she’s been through, Shortcake deserves a soft place to land and a family who will love her the way she’s always deserved. Shortcake tested negative for heartworm and up to date on vaccines. She will need to be spayed and microchipped when she arrives to NJ, this will require a trip to our spay/neuter clinic in Holmdel, which we cover. Her adoption donation is $500. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
