General info
Description
Force Field is a very special boy! He is a sweet, smart, outgoing, playful, curious, and energetic lovebug. He loves attention and will greet the humans at the door, preferring to hang out in whichever room theyâre in when heâs done zooming about the house. You will hear Force Field coo as he wanders and he loves to run, chase, and play with other adult cats (but doesnât care much for kittens). His very favorite activity is watching birds through a window, also known as âbirdie cableâ in his foster home. The bird feeder mounted on the outside of a large window provides hours of enjoyment. Force Field has been known to try and âtouchâ his bird friends as he launches himself at the window and hangs from the window pane. He is very proud of his efforts (although the birds generally ignore him). This smart boy quickly figured out how to use the cat flap that goes out to the catio all on his own, and happily lounges out there, enjoying the breeze and watching the birds and other outside critters. Force Field enjoys being held and snuggled, will stand on a counter and put his paws on your shoulders to get pets, and will use his paws to gently grab a hand that isnât providing sufficient attention. He is very easy going and tolerates required maintenance and medical care very well (taking pills, applying topical medication, having his nails trimmed). He has a very sweet little voice and the most beautiful eyes! Force Field would thrive in a home where the human(s) can give him lots of dedicated attention and playtime, where he has room to run around and climb, where he can safely watch the birds and/or other critters outside, and heâd love to have another young and/or playful kitty friend to run and interact with (ideally someone who enjoys playing chasing games). Force Field does have some medical needs that adopters will need to continue managing and working with a veterinarian on. Our clinic team is happy to discuss those needs in depth with a potential adopter but the short and sweet version is: Force Field has skin allergies and will need lifelong management, including a prescription diet and possibly daily medication (which he takes very well per his foster parent!) His condition wasnât responding to our treatments so we consulted a veterinary dermatologist and he has a good prognosis with continued medical care.Although Force Field has a little bit of extra care needed, he will provide a lot of extra love to his next adopter. Could that be you? Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
