This gorgeous 18-month-old Harlequin Great Dane weighs in at 90 pounds and is a fun-loving bundle of energy looking for a family to call her own. Calla absolutely adores people of all sizes and has never met attention she didn’t like. She’s happy to soak up all the love and then turn right around and show off her playful side. This smart girl already has some great skills under her belt — she is house broken, kennel trained, has mastered the dog door, and knows commands like sit and shake. Calla gets along well with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends, but because she’s an enthusiastic girl who sometimes forgets just how big she is, she would do best with another larger dog buddy. The little dogs in her foster home occasionally find themselves getting accidentally bulldozed during playtime! Calla’s journey to rescue has been a rough one. She was picked up multiple times as a stray before finally making her way to us after needing medical care for injuries to her side and stomach. She has been treated, is healing nicely, and her stylish T-shirt is helping her through recovery. Through it all, Calla has remained incredibly sweet and trusting. Now this beautiful girl is ready to leave her past behind and find a family that will give her the love, stability, and forever home she deserves. If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, big-hearted best friend, Calla may be your perfect match. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $350. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references.
