Description

This 2-month-old adorable bundle of playful, fun energy is ready to make his way to his forever home! You can't tell by this picture—or even by meeting him in person—but this little cutie just underwent MAJOR surgery a few short days ago. Thanks to our amazing shelter veterinarian (better known to us as Superwoman), Skips had his right kidney surgically removed after it became damaged and enlarged from trauma he sustained before arriving at our shelter as a stray. The injury caused an obstruction and irreversible damage, making surgery the best option to give him the chance at a normal, healthy life. With one healthy kidney, Skips can still live a long, healthy, and happy life! Just like people, cats can thrive with only one healthy kidney. His future family will simply need to establish routine monitoring with their veterinarian, as should be done for all pets. If you'd like to learn more about Skips and his special needs, come ask to meet him!He makes our hearts skip a beat, which is one very good reason for his name... Skips! His foster, who cared for him until he was big enough to undergo surgery, had this to say:`Skips is the most vocal baby I have ever heard!! He will carry on full conversations with you for hours! Skips wants to be as close to you as possible, and his favorite position is curled up on your neck or shoulders. He is the chill guy of the group and will hang out and take a nap on his back while his brother and sisters play. Skips is going to make someone very happy with his purrs and biscuit-making abilities!!`If you are able to provide a forever home filled with love for the rest of his days, he would love to meet you!All adoptable cats and kittens are:• Spayed/neutered• Microchipped• Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines and preventativesAdopters should establish veterinary care after adoption to maintain their pet's health. Please bring a carrier with you, or purchase one from us for only $5 to safely transport your new family member home.Location:430 Bristol DriveStatesvilleHours:Monday–Friday: 12–5 p.m.Saturday: 11 a.m.–2 p.m.We are a first-come, first-served, in-person adoption center.Don't forget the 3-3-3 Rule:• 3 Days to decompress• 3 Weeks to learn routines• 3 Months to build trustSkips / A3179202 months oldNeutered male2.36 pounds of pure cuteness#adoptfromicas #myicasrescue
