Description
Ashley, who now answers to both "Ashley" and "Pickles," first came to us in 2020 when she was just 8 months old. Her previous owner told us she wasn't good with children and gave us an impossible choice: take her or they would have her euthanized. When our staff member rushed to pick her up, they found Ashley confined to a cage so small she couldn't even turn around. It didn't take long for us to realize Ashley wasn't the cat we had been led to believe she was. Once she felt safe, her sweet personality began to shine. She loves gentle pets, enjoys being close to her people, and has grown into a calm, affectionate companion. After more than five wonderful years in her adoptive home, Ashley has found herself back in our care through no fault of her own or her previous family. She has spent years being a loved and cherished pet, and we're committed to finding her the right home once again. During her transition period at The Lounge, Pickles did bite two individuals. The first occurred shortly after her return during an extremely stressful transition period. The second happened after Ashley repeatedly signaled that she wanted space and those cues were unfortunately missed. Outside of these situations, Ashley has not shown a pattern of unpredictable aggression, and she lived successfully in her previous home for over five years without any known bite incidents. Ashley is a cat who appreciates people who understand feline body language and respect when she's had enough interaction. For that reason, we believe she would do best with an experienced cat owner in a calm, adult home where her boundaries will be recognized and respected. If you're looking for a loyal companion and appreciate a cat who communicates honestly, Ashley may be the perfect match. She has so much love to give to the right person, and we can't wait to see her find the peaceful forever home she deserves.
