Animal Information: Handsome Jack (nka Jackson) is an estimated 12-18-month old 35 lb now neutered male Whippet mix with epic ears and a fantastic temperament. He was found as a stray (with Charlie Girl) on a large ranch property and processed thru COH Animal Control. He was given just 72 hrs because the shelter was beyond capacity so PAWHI stepped in and found him (and Charlie) foster placement. In foster care Jack has learned house-training, crate-training, and leash-training, is comfortable with handling, takes treats gently and shows no behavior issues like resource guarding. He is social and friendly with dogs and people including young children, though he is initially timid with men. He has not been evaluated with cats. This soft and sweet boy is joining Dog Gone Seattle and we look forward to getting to know him in foster care. Foster Profile: Jackson needed a few days to adjust to life on the mainland but he settled into his foster home in stride, seamlessly blending into the pack including several other dogs and kids. He's even respectful of the cat! He's picked up house training and crate training like an old pro and is gaining confidence every day. Jackson is very dog oriented and loves to romp with his dog friends. He will need at least one canine companion in his adoptive home, and he might do better in a pack. He is a soft and sweet natured boy who will bond with people once rapport and trust is established. We anticipate he'll love to chase things once he gets comfortable!
