Description
Foster or forever home wanted, meet Pugsy Malone! Pugsy came into the Long Beach shelter as a stray on June 18th with no collar, tag and no microchip. Pugsy had a rather large ulcerated mass on his neck so we put him on our radar knowing he'd need help and fast. We contacted the shelter to express interest and asked if we could pull ahead of his available date of June 25th because we were concerned the mass would rupture. They approved it as a foster, so we were set to pull him on Monday 6/22. Low and behold, we get a message Sunday night that the mass had indeed ruptured and he was considered critical. We proceeded with our plan to exit him from the shelter where he was taken to the animal hospital and they immediately performed surgery! The little bugger did great! He had nasty tarter build up on all teeth, so he got a dental while he was under. Additionally, he had very overgrown nails which made it difficult for him to walk so he got a mani/pedi! He has to feel like a million bucks. The surgeon said the mass was not connected to anything, he got clean margins and lymph nodes look great! So, this little guy is ready to roll and get the heck out of medical boarding. If you are interested in meeting Pugsy Malone, please go to labradorsandfriends.org to fill out an application. Pugsy is located in Southern California.
