Riley (A142172) is a 14-week-old German Shepherd mix who weighed 20.7 pounds on intake! 06/27/26 Miss Riley, previously known as Pippa, was brought back to the shelter because her most recent family realized they did not have the time to devote to raising a puppy. They described Riley as being an outgoing, friendly and affectionate pup! She knows some basic commands, such as sit and lay down. However, Riley is looking for a home that can continue helping her with potty training and kennel training. She was said to do well in the car, but she has been known to dig and chew. These are typical puppy behaviors that can be curbed with proper mental and physical enrichment and access to appropriate chew toys. Riley was said to do well with babies, kids and strangers. She was also said to be playful towards other dogs. She does not have experience with other types of animals, so slow and controlled introductions are advised. Pippa was surrendered to the shelter after another dog nipped her in the home. She was assessed by the shelter vet and cleared for adoption! In typical puppy fashion she will need continued help with potty training, kennel training, basic commands, and especially positive socialization! Puppies are a lot of work, but worth the reward.
