Description

Bandit is a 7 month old husky puppy. Bandit came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after being part of an accidental litter. On the previous property, Bandit was outdoors with her littermates, parents and a few other large breed dogs. Although they have not experienced a lot prior to their surrender to the Shelter, staff have observed that Bandit is very social and silly. She is eager to play and zoom around the Shelter yards. Bandit has met other dogs, even ones smaller than her, and has been playful and curious. A home with other dogs may be a fit with a meet and greet at the Shelter prior to adoption. There were kids in her previous home. A home without felines or small animals is recommended due to observed prey drive in her previous home. Bandit is looking to be someone’s adventure buddy. Could that be you? Bandit is available for preadoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
