ADOPTION FEE WAIVED!! Meet WALLABY, a big lover of a dog. He adores people and bonds closely to his trusted humans. 4 year old Wallaby (Wally to his friends) originally came to SDHR as a puppy back in 2022. He was adopted into a home with someone we believed would give him a lifetime of love. Sadly we were wrong, we recently got a call that our boy had been surrendered to a shelter at age 4 through no fault of his own. He's now back with us and in need of a real forever home. We had to get to know Wally all over again to figure out who he is and what he needs in a home. Wallaby loves people with his whole heart. His needs are pretty simple, he enjoys the attention of loving humans, playing a little fetch and sunbathing in the yard. Wallaby treasures his favorite toys. He seems to yearn for a quiet life with his favorite people. Wallaby is a big handsome Heinz 57 varieties-type mixed breed fellow weighing a perfect 63 pounds. Back when he was a puppy we guessed he was mostly a black mouth cur/labrador retriever mix plus who knows what else. Now that he's grown up, we believe we were on target. Wallaby seems to enjoy life on the quiet side. He's a chill guy perfectly suited to life as a homebody, an ideal work-from-home office mate or constant companion. He's not a dog park kind of guy, he's content to have a fenced yard where he can run around and lounge. Wallaby's adoption fee is waived, we had him neutered as a puppy and the shelter updated his vaccines so we have very little money invested in him. We want to find Wallaby his perfect home quickly and we don't want his adoption fee to be a barrier. If you'd like to meet Wallaby, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
