Gyul est un magnifique et doux mâle de 9 ans, arrivé au refuge avec son frère d'infortune, Dalgi, en février 2026, à la suite d'un abandon lié à une situation d'accumulation compulsive. À son arrivée, il souffrait d'une rupture du globe oculaire (œil crevé). Son œil n'ayant pu être sauvé, une énucléation (ablation de l'œil) a dû être pratiquée.  Malgré son passé difficile, Gyul n’a jamais perdu confiance en l’être humain. Il apprécie clairement la présence des gens, recherche leur affection et profite pleinement de l’amour qu’on lui offre. Sa douceur et sa capacité à faire confiance malgré tout témoignent de son grand cœur et de sa résilience. Et pour couronner le tout, Gyul possède de magnifiques pouces supplémentaires qui le rendent encore plus unique et adorable. Ce qui est particulièrement drôle chez Gyul, c’est de le regarder jouer. Sa coordination est un peu approximative (sans doute à cause de son œil), ce qui rend ses aventures encore plus amusantes et attachantes. Gyul est un chat heureux et plein de joie de vivre qui adore jouer et se faire câliner. Il aime recevoir de l’attention, mais il est aussi très patient avec les autres chats et attend gentiment son tour. Gyul s’entendrait très bien avec des compagnons félins grâce à son tempérament patient et sociable. Cela dit, il serait tout aussi heureux en tant qu’unique chat de la maison, où il pourrait régner en roi et profiter de toute l’attention et de tout l’amour qui lui sont dus.  C’est un véritable chat de genoux, et il n’est pas difficile du tout : peu importe comment vous le caressez, il est simplement heureux de partager un moment avec vous.Lorsqu’il joue, Gyul peut parfois se montrer un peu brusque, ce qui est probablement lié au fait que ses griffes sont un peu longues. Un entretien mensuel des griffes est donc important et fait partie des soins essentiels à lui apporter pour son bien-être et pour des interactions de jeu tout en douceur. L’utilisation de griffoirs (scratching posts) dans la maison est également fortement recommandée afin de lui permettre d’exprimer son comportement naturel tout en protégeant les meubles. Gyul aura également besoin d’une alimentation de bonne qualité, comme la gamme Oven Baked Tradition , afin de soutenir sa santé générale et son bien-être. Il est aussi en attente d’une dentisterie, dont les frais sont couverts par le refuge. Il sera donc important que ses futurs adoptants soient en mesure de l’amener à son rendez-vous chez notre vétérinaire à Anjou. Un foyer situé à Montréal serait préférable afin de faciliter son suivi médical et ses soins. Gyul est un chat adulte, dont les frais d'adoption sont de 290$. Il est stérilisé, vacciné, micropucé et négatif pour le virus de l'immunodéficience féline (VIF) ainsi que la leucose féline (FeLV). Des assurances santé de 6 semaines viennent avec son adoption. Upon arrival, he was suffering from a ruptured eyeball (a ruptured eye). As his eye could not be saved, an enucleation (surgical removal of the eye) had to be performed. Despite his difficult past, Gyul has never lost his trust in humans. He clearly enjoys people’s presence, seeks affection, and fully appreciates the love he is given. His gentleness and his ability to trust despite everything speak to his big heart and resilience. And to top it all off, Gyul has adorable extra toes that make him even more unique and charming. One of the most entertaining things about Gyul is watching him play. His coordination is a little off (likely due to his eye), which makes his antics even more amusing and endearing. Gyul is a happy, playful, and affectionate cat who loves to play and cuddle. He enjoys attention, but he is also very patient with other cats and waits his turn politely. Gyul would do very well with feline companions thanks to his patient and sociable temperament. That said, he would also be perfectly happy as the only cat in the home, where he could reign as king and enjoy all the attention and love he deserves. He is a true lap cat and not at all picky: no matter how you pet him, he is simply happy to share a moment with you. When he plays, Gyul can sometimes be a bit rough, which is likely due to his slightly long claws. Monthly nail trimming is therefore important and part of the essential care he needs for his well-being and for gentle play interactions. The use of scratching posts in the home is also strongly recommended to allow him to express his natural behavior while protecting furniture. Gyul will also need a high-quality diet, such as Oven Baked Tradition, to support his overall health and well-being. He is also awaiting dental surgery, the costs of which are covered by the shelter. It will therefore be important that his future adopters are able to bring him to his appointment at our veterinary clinic in Anjou. A home located in Montreal would be preferred in order to facilitate his follow-up care and medical needs. Gyul is an adult cat, therefore the adoption fee is $290$. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, and has tested negative for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV).  Six weeks of pet insurance are included with the adoption.
