Description
Golden Prize Melon (Goldy), her sisters, and mama Honeydewbert came to us after their colony caretaker passed away. The kittens were tiny and Honeydewbert is very friendly, so we kept them to be indoor pets. Goldy looks most like their tabico mom, but she doesn’t seem to have inherited Honeydewbert’s short tail. Goldy is a master hunter of toy mice. She likes to carry them around proudly and dare her sisters to try stealing her catch! She is fierce! She needs a minute to relax in a new situation and was a bit camera shy, but she is easy to distract with toys and pets. Goldy and her mom are bonded. Goldy is still learning confidence from her mom’s example. Honeydewbert is a very attentive mother who really needs to keep her baby with her and get anxious about adult cats even looking in the direction of her kittens. They are adorable when they play and wrestle together. Goldy was born March 19th, 2026. If Goldy is not spayed by the time she is adopted, she will be on a spay/neuter contract. She is microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations. As always, cat/kitten adoptions are free will donation to approved applicants. ****The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org****
