Description
Dora came to us last summer as a teenage stray from the Portland Forge — a pretty rough place for a cat, especially one with week-old babies in tow. She was friendlier than the mostly feral crowd out there, so one of the workers did the right thing and brought her to us. She and her kittens got the full Dora the Explorer treatment for names, and a few of her crew — Swiper, Tico, and Backpack — are still hanging around in the rescue.Dora herself decided cat room life wasn’t for her and appointed herself bookstore cat. Good call, honestly. She’s affectionate with most people, happy to share the couch or claim a lap, and has made her peace with Finley. She does prefer to be the only queen in the room, though, and has made that preference known. She’s tiny. She is also not remotely aware of this.A word to the wise: she’s sweet, but she has opinions, and she’s not shy about expressing them if you’re doing something she didn’t approve. Gentle visitors tend to be her favorites. Rowdy kids and sudden movements, less so.If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application.
