Meet Dexter!Dexter is a handsome 4-month-old mixed breed pup currently weighing almost 20 pounds. As a young pup, he still has plenty of growing left to do and will likely mature into a medium-sized dog. Dexter made his way to Pittsburgh after leaving an overcrowded shelter in West Virginia, and he has been thriving in his foster home since!Dexter is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves meeting new people of all ages. With a slight shyness, he will happily greet you and is more than happy to shower you with kisses once he feels comfortable. He gets along great with other dogs and would love a canine sibling to grow up with, though he would also do well as an only dog as long as he receives plenty of love and attention from his people.Speaking of people—Dexter absolutely adores them. He enjoys being near his family, will happily follow you from room to room, and often looks to his people for guidance and reassurance. Dexter is also living with cats in his foster home and does well with them.This playful pup loves toys, games, and spending time with his people. After he’s had a chance to burn off some puppy energy, he’s a champion cuddler who would be thrilled to curl up next to you on the couch.Like most puppies, Dexter is still learning his manners and will need a family committed to continuing his training. The good news is that Dexter is food-motivated, attentive, and eager to please, making him a great candidate for training.Dexter has been working hard on house training and is making excellent progress, though he will need continued consistency in his new home.
