Description
6/22 Meet Troubadour, better known as Tru! Tru is a young mixed-breed boy with a heart of gold and a story of incredible resilience. When he first arrived at our rescue, he had been severely neglected. He was painfully underweight and had spent much of his life confined to a crate. Despite everything he's been through, Tru has never stopped loving people. Over the past several months, Tru has blossomed into a happy, affectionate, and playful young dog. He's been working hard on his crate and potty training and continues to make fantastic progress. Considering the life he came from, we're incredibly proud of how far he's come. Tru's favorite thing in the world is being with his people. He soaks up attention, loves affection, and forms strong bonds with those who show him kindness. At just about a year old, he still has that adorable puppy face that will melt your heart—and the goofy puppy antics that will keep you smiling every day. We do not know his breed. The website makes us pick a breed when listing dogs, but he is most likely a mix of many breeds. Tru gets along well with most dogs and tends to do best with companions his size or smaller. He prefers neutered friends and isn't particularly fond of much larger dogs or intact males. He is currently about 60 lbs and around a year old. Now healthy, thriving, and ready for his next chapter, Tru is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and searching for a loving forever family. All he needs is someone willing to give him the patience, stability, and love he's always deserved. Could you be the happy ending Tru has been waiting for? Tru will enter the Paws in Prison program on Monday, 6/22. He will spend 8 weeks working on house training, and basic obedience, and might just learn some tricks while there! We hope to have a home ready for him by the time he graduates. Located in Arkansas. He is available to adopters here in Arkansas, but also available to New England adopters with transport available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NJ, or CT on Saturdays. For more info or questions, email apps.aasr@gmail.com.
