Description
Hi, I'm Herbie!I'm a FIDO Project dog- FIDO stands for Florida Inmates & Dog Obedience. I live inside our local men's prison so they can help me learn a few things that might help me find a home. Each FIDO class gets their own theme- ours is called, `The Fanstastic Fur.` I was found in June tied to a tree near a Dollar General. I was very stressed, and really struggled to adjust to shelter life. The staff tried to help me feel better, but I never could relax and there. They decided that maybe the inmates could work with me and gain my trust. As you might have guessed, it worked. If youâve seen my pictures on Facebook and the MCAS website, then you know I enjoy being close to the men who train me. Theyâve given me their all and I really feel it. I want to make them happy, so I pay attention when they want me to do something.I make great eye-contact. They call it `engagement.` I guess the people who had me before just didn't know what Iâm capable of doing. I hope youâll see my value and know that with some patience, tasty rewards and a bit of focus on me, you'll find I can do even more. If you think you may want to adopt me, please visit marionfl.org/fido and submit a no-obligation adoption application. Someone from my FIDO team will reach out to you to soon!
