Thor: A Warrior's Spirit, A Tender Heart Just like his legendary namesake, Thor is handsome, powerful, intelligent, and turns heads. Thor might be known for his hammer but look at those ears - those are pretty supernatural  This striking 4½-year-old Belgian Malinois has had quite a journey. Before coming to ABMR, Thor passed through multiple homes and narrowly escaped euthanasia. He has spent much of his life waiting for someone to see the incredible dog he has always been. Through it all, he has remained ready to give his whole heart to the right person. Today, thanks to the dedication of his foster mom who saw his potential, he's blossoming into an incredible dog. Thor is a smart, engaging boy who loves learning and working alongside his foster mom. She has expertly worked to build his confidence through agility training, and he has taken to it beautifully. Watching Thor conquer these new challenges and find purpose and fulfillment is not only rewarding, but so much fun! One of Thor's most endearing traits is his expressive personality (just look into those eyes). He wears his heart on his sleeve and is very sweet. In true Malinois fashion, Thor does the "Malinois clack" that punctuates his enthusiasm and excitement. Thor is: Fully house-trained Excellent in a crate Comfortable riding in a crate in the car Good with other dogs Very good with people once he gets to know them. He can be a little slow to warm up to new people, preferring to take a moment to assess a situation before diving in. But once you've earned his trust, he's all in—loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. Respectful of fences Familiar with basic obedience commands Thor has not been tested with cats. Because of his enthusiasm and energy, he would likely do best in a home without small children. He recently attended the Malinois National with his foster mom, where he was exposed to crowds, unfamiliar dogs, and countless new experiences. True to his thoughtful nature, Thor took a moment to assess his surroundings, then settled in beautifully and handled everything with confidence.
