* This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, June 20th from 12-3 PM unless adopted prior to the event.   All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption.   Adoption Fee: $650 Meet Peach Cobbler, the 4-5 month old Chug who has somehow combined the charm of a Chihuahua, the comedy of a Pug, and the decision making skills of a squirrel on espresso. Peach arrived a little shy and unsure of herself, taking her sweet time to emerge from her crate and assess her new kingdom. Forty minutes later she was sitting in her foster mom's lap conducting a full inspection of the household like a tiny CEO. Since then, she has blossomed into a curious, hilarious little sidekick who keeps everyone laughing. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to live with a puppy who treats every day like an adventure movie, Peach is ready to show you. Peach's hobbies include collecting every toy she can find and relocating them to secret locations around the house, chasing squirrels as if she is personally responsible for neighborhood wildlife management, and performing zoomies so fast that witnesses question whether she briefly achieved flight. She once spent an impressive amount of time playing with a single blueberry, carrying it from room to room, batting it around, hiding it under furniture, and generally treating it like a prized possession. Eating it was apparently never part of the plan. She also specializes in enthusiastic butt wiggles, dramatic puppy antics, and providing a daily dose of entertainment that no streaming service can compete with. While Peach loves to play, she also has a sweet and snuggly side. She enjoys curling up on the couch, sunbathing in the yard, and occasionally deciding that your lap is exactly where she belongs. Notice the word occasionally. Peach believes affection should happen on her schedule, which honestly makes it feel even more special when she chooses you. She sleeps through the night in her crate, is doing wonderfully with potty training, and has already figured out that barking at the door is an excellent way to request room service to the backyard. She gets along well with her foster dog sister Olive and would love a home where she can continue building confidence while getting plenty of love and attention. The only real danger with Peach Cobbler is that someone else will adopt her first. This is the kind of puppy people talk about months later and say, "Remember that adorable little Chug we almost applied for?" Don't be that person. Be the person posting photos of Peach's latest zoomie session while your friends ask where you found such a ridiculously cute dog. Peach is equal parts comedy act, cuddle buddy, adventure partner, and tiny shadow. Whoever adopts her is getting a lifetime supply of laughs, love, and daily reminders that life is better when a little Peach Cobbler is in it.
